FMCSA Revoked ELD List: 269 Devices Removed (2018–2026)

As of the July 3, 2026 FMCSA export, 269 electronic logging devices have been removed from the registered ELD list. Of those, 115 were FMCSA-revoked because the device failed federal requirements, and 154 were self-revoked, meaning the provider voluntarily withdrew the device or went out of business. Either way, the device is no longer compliant.

A revoked ELD was removed by the FMCSA because it failed to meet the technical requirements of the ELD mandate — common reasons include failing to record engine hours or GPS accurately, being unable to transfer data to enforcement, or security flaws that let drivers edit hours-of-service records. A self-revoked ELD was pulled by the provider itself, usually because the company stopped supporting it or went out of business. For a driver on the road the practical effect is identical: the device no longer counts as a compliant ELD.

Once a device is revoked, carriers have up to 60 days to switch to a compliant ELD. After that window, a driver using the revoked device is treated as operating without an ELD. Enforcement can cite 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1) and place the driver out of service, which stops the truck and hurts your CSA score. If your provider notifies you of a revocation, replace the device before the deadline.

A high count is not always a red flag — some large vendors self-revoke old models when they launch replacements — but it is worth confirming your specific device ID is still registered.
