5 First-Year Factoring Mistakes to Avoid

1

Signing long-term contracts

Consequence: Trapped for 2-3 years even if you find better rates or service

Solution: Always negotiate month-to-month or max 6-month contracts

2

Ignoring hidden fees

Consequence: Your 2% rate becomes 4-5% with ACH, processing, and minimum fees

Solution: Get total cost in writing including ALL fees before signing

3

Choosing recourse factoring

Consequence: If a broker doesn't pay, you owe the money back

Solution: Always choose TRUE non-recourse factoring

4

Not checking broker credit

Consequence: Factor an invoice only to have it rejected or cause problems

Solution: Use the free credit check tool before booking any load

5

Factoring every invoice

Consequence: Paying fees on loads from reliable, quick-pay brokers

Solution: Only factor when you need fast cash; use QuickPay when available
